As a therapist, I see myself as a guide on your journey of healing and discovery to empower you to become the healthiest version of yourself. Change is not instantaneous, and I am committed to helping you navigate your path at your pace.

I believe that a strong connection between therapist and client is essential to beneficial therapy and use a non-judgmental, client-centered approach rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and strengths-based therapy. With support and encouragement, I’ll help you develop strength, resiliency, and healthy coping strategies. I offer empathy, respect, relatability, and warmth but will also challenge you to work through hard truths and feelings when needed.

Therapy can sometimes be difficult, but the destination is worth the hard work.  Fear of the unknown can stop people from getting the help they need, but you do not have to struggle alone. Change is possible at any age, so it is never too late to seek help and start on your own personal journey of hope and healing.

LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas (License #104957) and received my bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville and my master’s degree in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio.  My diverse background includes work with Child Protective Services, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), inpatient crisis management, geriatric social services, hospice, and sexual trauma and domestic violence.

My husband and I have three adult children and one grandson, and we enjoy spending time with our family and friends, traveling, and Astros baseball.

How long does therapy take?

Some clients may feel relief or meet their therapeutic goals in just a few sessions, while other clients may require months or years to reach psychological wellness. Those with severe mental health disorders may benefit from lifelong therapy support. You and your counselor will regularly examine your goals and evaluate your improvement. Your counselor will help you decide when it's the right time to terminate treatment, but it's always your decision to end therapy at any time for any reason.
