It is my honor and pleasure to be a part of an individual’s life journey. With empathy and support, I walk alongside clients during their most difficult struggles, trauma, and psychological issues. As a passionate and interactive therapist, I aid in client growth through the development of inner strength, self-awareness, and the connection to oneself and others.
I draw from a variety of methodologies and approaches to incorporate what is most helpful for each individual, but I most commonly use emotion focused therapy, relational therapy, client-centered therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I work to create a space in which the client feels witnessed, understood and accepted, which allows space for healing.
Our mental health does not define us; it is merely something we navigate in order to live a balanced lifestyle. Small changes in a person's life can result in substantial positive outcomes, and it is never too late to grow, learn or change. There is help, there is hope, and the possibilities for the future are endless.
LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (#90268) in Texas and a Registered addiction specialist. My education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from National Louis University and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. My experience includes work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families and treated addiction and mental health issues in a hospital, outpatient settings, and in the criminal justice system.
How long does therapy take?
Some clients may feel relief or meet their therapeutic goals in just a few sessions, while other clients may require months or years to reach psychological wellness. Those with severe mental health disorders may benefit from lifelong therapy support. You and your counselor will regularly examine your goals and evaluate your improvement. Your counselor will help you decide when it's the right time to terminate treatment, but it's always your decision to end therapy at any time for any reason.
