Houston Young Adult Counseling
we treat young adults
This stage of young adulthood is often characterized by numerous, rapid changes that may be overwhelming as young people take on more adult roles and responsibilities. It is common for young adults to experience the challenges below.
Transition to college
Academic stress
Lack of motivation
Career uncertainty
Lack of meaningful relationships
Work stress
Volatile relationships
Video game or social media dependency
Getting married
Becoming new parents
The brain continues to develop until about the age of 25, and young people may struggle with impulse-control, long-term planning, and answering the question, “What am I going to do with my life?” During the transition from adolescence to adulthood, the young person may find it helpful to meet with a mental health professional to sort through the unique challenges associated with this stage of life. The licensed therapists at The Resilience Center of Houston are experienced in helping young adults cope with life stressors and develop realistic goals and plans to succeed and find meaning in life.
