It takes courage to ask for help; I praise you for reaching out. Therapy can be a team effort, and I hope we can work together to achieve your goals. I believe we can make positive change happen. My goal is to help you recognize your strengths and feel empowered to overcome your difficulties. I find it helpful to keep therapy structured and regularly use tools and handouts to help individuals clarify their struggles, redirect thought, and hone-in on areas of improvement. I also find it beneficial to share my own experiences and the techniques that have helped me along the way in my journey.

I am trained and certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and find it to be the most helpful approach in my work with clients of all ages. CBT is goal-oriented and focuses individuals on what they want to achieve.

What will my first therapy session be like?

After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
