I consider being a counselor my highest calling and simply love what I do. My passion is to help people reach their goals in a meaningful way, and I aim to create a safe and inviting environment for my clients to open up and share their worlds. The bravery and courage of my clients continue to inspire me as they work to mend broken pieces.  I work to guide couples and individuals of all ages toward healing, clarity, and greater life meaning. With a holistic perspective, I approach counseling with an amalgam of cognitive  behavioral  therapy,  schema therapy, and EMDR. I believe every person has

the answers to their struggles within and feel grateful to walk alongside my clients on their self-discovery journey. I would be honored and humbled to work as your counselor, and I look forward to the insights we will uncover. As therapist and writer, David Richo, PhD, said, “Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful parts of us.”

LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (#81944) in Texas, Certified Trauma Professional, and Certified Grief Counselor. My education includes a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology of Organizational Development from the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio. I have experience providing child, adult, couples, family, and group counseling and have worked in private practice providing psychotherapy, in a Sheriff’s office addressing emergency suicide calls, and in volunteer settings for more than 20 years focusing on families in crisis, military separation issues, and coping with a child’s terminal illness and the death of a child.

What will my first therapy session be like?

After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
