Life Transitions
I am passionate about helping both adolescents and adults navigate life’s ups and downs to restore stability and balance to their lives. Together, we will work on overcoming barriers and nurturing your mental wellness within a judgment-free space. I am here to support and empower you every step of the way.
My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy and respect and combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and the gentle art of Mindfulness Therapy. Mindfulness isn’t just about meditation; it’s a powerful ally to better understand ourselves, reduce stress, and find clarity in the chaos. My deep commitment to client-centered care creates a trusting setting where all clients feel free to address their concerns.
Working with adolescents, I have seen firsthand the unique challenges and pressures young people face and have dedicated myself to building a safe place where teens feel understood and championed as they grapple with the complexities of growing up. I use strategies tailored to young minds to aid decision-making, self-esteem, stress management, emotional regulation, communication, and healthy peer relationships.
For adults struggling with life’s hurdles, I am here to offer a compassionate ear and help you develop useful skills to build resilience and become your most authentic self. I foster a warm, accepting environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, identify and alter negative thought patterns, and make meaningful life changes.
LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (#81686) in Texas and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas State University and my Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from the University of Houston-Victoria. I have had the privilege of working in private practice, juvenile detention, and state and county agencies providing counseling to individuals, groups, and families in person and virtually. My education and professional work have been focused on providing services to adolescents and adults who experience various traumas, mental health disorders, and substance abuse issues.
It's hard to see your child suffering and feel powerless to help. Your child may struggle with anxiety, behavior, self-esteem, academics, or fitting in with peers. Maybe your child is recovering from a trauma, parental divorce, or death in the family. We have trained professionals here to help.
Types of Counseling
What will my first therapy session be like?
After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
