Sometimes, adverse experiences can block us from accessing the inner strengths we have used to cope in the past. My passion is assisting adolescents and adults in recovering from life stressors and transitional life changes. From a trauma-informed perspective, I utilize both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) to assist clients in their healing. I provide an open, safe, and non-judgmental environment and use a client-focused, strengths-based approach. My therapeutic style is empathetic and interactive as I learn about my clients’ strengths, the tools they have previously used, and what goals they wish to accomplish in therapy.
Taking the first step to reach out for help can be difficult. When you find a therapist that fits you, however, the healing, growing, and thriving can be so rewarding! I found this to be true in my own life and enjoy offering these opportunities to the clients I treat. I would love the privilege of walking alongside you as you progress through your journey of discovery and recovery toward safety and serenity. It would be my pleasure and honor to assist you.
LICENSE, EDUCTAION, & EXPERIENCE
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#59599) working in the state of Texas. After earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work in 2010, I completed my Master of Science in Social Work in 2012. Since then, my 8 years of professional experience have given me an opportunity to engage with our diverse community members here in Houston, which includes work in schools, outpatient behavioral health clinics, and assisted living facilities.
It's hard to see your child suffering and feel powerless to help. Your child may struggle with anxiety, behavior, self-esteem, academics, or fitting in with peers. Maybe your child is recovering from a trauma, parental divorce, or death in the family. We have trained professionals here to help.
Types of Counseling
What will my first therapy session be like?
After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
