Given the environment and opportunity to process their emotions, I believe each person is capable of growth. Counseling has always been a passion for me, and I strive to create a supportive space during sessions for clients to share without feeling judged. Clients should feel heard, understood, and safe in therapy to explore and develop their true selves.

Grounded in empathy, my therapeutic approach uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Together, we will identify emotions and stressors that contribute to your concerns and will focus on short-term and long-term goals to meet your needs. We will build on the strengths you bring to the session and help you to adopt healthy coping skills to become a better you. I may suggest supplemental strategies to enhance your treatment, such as homework to be completed outside of the session, journaling, relaxation exercises, meditation, and suitable support groups within the community.

I applaud you for prioritizing your mental health and seeking professional help.

What will my first therapy session be like?

After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
