LPC
A Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is a mental health service provider who diagnoses and treats psychological and behavioral health problems and disorders in individuals, families, and groups.
LPCs obtain a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling from an accredited institution of higher education and are trained in the causes and development of mental illness and the administration of well-established treatment methods.
After completing at least 3,000 hours of post-master degree supervised clinical work, LPCs undergo regular, ongoing continuing education and adhere to strict ethical codes and standards of practice.
