“There is no greater journey than the one that you must take to discover all of the mysteries that lie within you.” -Michelle Sandlin
Assisting individuals in living a more meaningful and purposeful life is my passion. Life challenges can come when least expected, and I want to help clients overcome whatever is preventing them from being the best version of themselves. I believe in meeting clients where they are and focusing on areas they want to improve.
Warm and engaging, my style allows for the opportunity for both laughter and tears. I strive to demonstrate compassion and facilitate self-discovery and empowerment in each session. Using evidence-based theoretical approaches, I help individuals develop positive coping skills, solutions, and self-awareness. I would love to have the opportunity to get to know you and work with you on your therapeutic journey.
LICENSE, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
I am originally from the Midwest and was born and raised in Chicago. Before becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#63519), I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi and a Master of Social Work from Chicago State University in Chicago, Illinois. With over 10 years of experience working as a medical Social Worker, I have provided case management and met the mental health needs of those at the end of life and those accessing care in the hospital, community health, and skilled nursing settings.
I enjoy spending time with my family, learning about different cultures, trying new foods, and traveling.
