TREATMENT SPECIALTIES
I believe healing happens in relationships and pride myself in being a warm, cheerful, direct, open-minded therapist who empowers clients to reach their goals and improve their quality of life. I recognize that the first session with a new therapist can be intimidating, so I work to make clients feel comfortable and safe to share their struggles.
Â
Change does not always progress linearly and may feel unattainable at times, but I believe in meeting people where they are. Having a supportive and knowledgeable therapist can facilitate your growth and help you feel confident in handling the changes life throws your way.
Â
I take a positive and holistic approach to therapy, highlighting my clients’ strengths and checking in with the mind and body. Therapy is a collaborative process where the clients determine therapy goals and the pace of sessions. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and use other modalities that focus on mindfulness, acceptance, and motivation.
LICENSE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE
As a young adult, a therapist helped me feel believed, empowered, and understood, and I wanted to give that experience to others. I graduated with a Master's degree from the Garland School of Social Work at Baylor University, focusing on trauma-informed therapy and becoming trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I then worked as a medical social worker treating patients at home and in the skilled nursing setting. Now as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#66833), I work with couples, families, teens, and adults and have practiced in the field for the last 8 years.
