Life can sometimes feel like a Rollercoaster, but with the right tools, resources, and education, you can surely navigate the twists and turns. I would love to join you on your journey, and I am confident we can work toward the peace, stability, happiness, and clarity you are searching for.

Trust, respect, genuineness, and autonomy will be the cornerstone of our client-therapist relationship. I believe each person is the expert of their own life and has the power to make the necessary changes to live a more meaningful existence. As your therapist, I will hold space to honor your experiences and will serve as a guide to help you overcome your current stressors.

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which aims to correct inaccurate or negative thinking, and Solution-focused Therapy, which helps clients focus on solutions rather than the problem itself. As we dive deeper into therapy, you may find excitement from the new insights gained, and you may also feel challenged by the shift of moving beyond your comfort zone. I will be there to validate your experiences and support your healthy coping.

If you are ready to partner together, I would love to hear from you!

LICENCE, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (#88835) in Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the Great Bethune Cookman University and a Master of Science in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling from Walden University. More than 14 years of clinical and social service employment have given me experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I have worked in diverse settings, including schools, non-profit sectors, adoption agencies, child welfare systems, inpatient hospitals, and the Department of Juvenile Justice.

What will my first therapy session be like?

After looking over your paperwork and informing you about confidentiality, you and your counselor will discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. Your counselor will decide if they are the best clinician to meet your needs, and you will decide if your counselor is a comfortable fit.
